It’s the last week of the month. That means Games with Gold announcements are here. Like usual, they’re putting up two Xbox One games and two Xbox 360 games. All Xbox 360 games are playable on Xbox One via backward compatibility.

Xbox One October Games With Gold

From the makers of Tacoma, Gone Home: Console Edition is the first game available on October 1st through to the 31st. Gone Home is a first-person adventure game where you play as a girl named Katie returning home to family after a time away. Upon arrival, the house is empty. Find out what happened during her absence in this award-winning title. Gone Home: Console Edition features enhanced graphics and audio, and was ported from Unity 4 to Unity 5 for additional improvements. It’s the first version of the game to be playable with a gamepad.

The Turing Test is up next. Available from October 16th to November 15th, this first-person puzzler places you as space engineer Ava Turing as she works at a research station on Jupiter’s moon, Europa. Much like Gone HomeThe Turing Test is a narrative focused experience that will leave you with much to think about upon completion.

Xbox 360 October Games With Gold

The first Xbox 360 game is an HD re-release of Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc. Iterating on the design of Rayman 2: The Great Escape, this sequel is a 3D platformer telling the story of Rayman saving the world from the evil André. 60 FPS, 720p resolution, leaderboards, and achievements have made their way into the HD release. These upgrades are at the expense of Rayman 3’s original intro and “Wanna Kick Rayman” bonus videos from the original 2003 release. The game will be available from October 1st to October 15th.

The 11th title in the franchise, WWII shooter Medal of Honor: Airborne rounds off this month’s releases. Airborne was an attempt to reinvigorate the series with a focus on paratroopers activity. Missions are open-ended having players parachuting behind enemy lines and making their way to the objective from wherever they land. The game will be available from October 16th to the 31st.

This is a great month for story-centric games. Both Gone Home and The Turing Test are short but meaningful experiences. For more significant stories, there’s still time to pick up Oxenfree from this month’s offerings. It will be available until October 15th.
