Xbox E3 2019 gave us a fresh look at the sequel to Dying Light. The zombies are still out there in Dying Light 2, and they seek nothing more than to make everyone else one of them. The updated trailer showcases enhanced graphics and more enemy types along with cinematics.

Dying Light 2 brings more parkour action versus viral undead hordes. The game claims to make your choices count more than in the original. Players are still fighting to survive, but now they seek to do more and focus on what matters. We see that the curfew is still in place, so we'll likely hear those reminders that night is coming... It's time to hunker down that defined much of the first title's atmosphere.

The trailer appears to be narrated by the game’s protagonist, Aiden Caldwell, and takes place 15 years after the first title. Aiden is an infected survivor who functions as a runner, similar to the protagonist of the first game. Using parkour to stay above threats and strong melee skills on the ground, he'll run missions for the various factions of the city.

Also featured was the addition of music from composer Olivier Deriviere (Vampyr, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag - Freedom Cry). Deriviere will compose for the full game as well as the trailers and demos.

Earlier trailers have focused on the many factions dividing the area, and it's likely that much of the street warfare we see between humans will be a part of these faction battles. Players are likely to pick and choose who to support or whether or not to let it all go wild. Dying Light 2 promises more of what made the original open-world survival horror action game such a hit with players.

Dying Light 2 is published by Techland and distributed by Square Enix in the U.S. The sequel to Dying Light is powered by the C-Engine, Techland’s cutting-edge in-house technology, and a new generation of its earlier engine.

Coming to the Xbox One, PC and PS4 in Spring 2020.
