Xbox E3 2019 is all set to rock the dragon with the reveal of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, the newest game in the Dragon Ball franchise. We got to see a bunch of gameplay using the classic Japanese voices, something that is sure to be appreciated by the OG fans of the series. (I'm sure there won't be any helicopter pilots safely parachuting away in this one!)

The scenes we got to see were rendered in a beautiful cel-shaded 3D style live we've seen in many of the more recent Dragon Ball games. They seemed to be from the first few sagas of Dragonball Z including the original fights with Vegeta & Nappa, the fight with Frieza, and Goku's iconic fight against Frieza. Hilariously, the trailer for Kakarot also managed to spoil some of the most amazing moments from Akira Toriyama's signature work, but I suppose it wouldn't be a trailer if it didn't spoil something.

In terms of the gameplay, Kakarot seems to have a healthy mix of 3D action along with interspersed cinematics. We got a good general idea of how the game will play, but there was an unfortunate lack of any of the finer details or a HUD. Bandai Namco Entertainment classifies this title as an Action RPG, though I'm sure it will be quite a bit different from stuff like Diablo.

Previously, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot was only known by its code name Dragon Ball Game - Project Z. That code name has now officially been shelved in favor of its proper title. You can watch the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot trailer below to see this brand-new game in action. The newest game in the Dragon Ball franchise arrives sometime in Early 2020 for the Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4.
