During the Xbox E3 2019 conference this Sunday, we saw a new trailer of CD Projekt RED's Cyberpunk 2077. The male version of V shows up at a shady neighborhood and gets to a meeting with Dex, the same gangster we saw in last year's 48-minute gameplay trailer. V is just there to collect some money for a chip. As he goes into the bathroom he remembers the getaway with his friend Jackie. Things go south, and apparently, Jackie dies in the car. Then it cuts back to the room with the gangster, V comes out of the bathroom for some fight scenes, with a lot of melee attacks with the retractable Arasaka Mantis Blades. Finally, V dies, shot by the gangster. Then it cuts to a scene in what looks like the outskirts of Night City, as you lie on the floor, and a man with a prosthetic arm approaches you: "Wake the fuck up, samurai! We have a city to burn." He squats down and takes off his sunglasses. It's Keanu Reeves.

As the trailer ended, Keanu joined the stage in a very cool entrance. "I wanna talk to you about something! CD Projekt RED! Cyberpunk 2077!" He said CD Projekt RED approached him a while ago about the game. He talked about it with a lot of enthusiasm, then presented a new video segment or gameplay reel, with the much-anticipated official release date. You can see the full official cinematic trailer below for the full scene with V and the gangsters, and the Keanu segment. There's no word of whether we will get to see another longer gameplay trailer as we did last year, but it's very likely a possibility.

Cyberpunk 2077 will release on April 16, 2020, on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The confirmation of a release date ties in with the Standard Edition that was leaked last Friday (as well as the Collector's Edition that leaked more recently). Although we reported that the release date was in limbo, it seems CD Projekt RED decided to go with a very convenient release date that will give them time to polish the game as well as tie in with the official tabletop RPG Cyberpunk 2020.

The game is now available for pre-order from the official website. However, you can only pre-order the digital editions from either GOG and Steam so far, with the retail editions and the Epic Games Store version set to come soon. The Collector’s Edition is also available for pre-order and comes packed with a number of high-quality collectibles. These include a 25 cm /10-inch statue depicting V in action, a steel book case, a hardcover art book, and more. The Collector’s Edition comes in an impressive box made to look like one of the megabuildings towering over Night City.

CD Projekt RED intends to share more information about Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 2019, behind-closed-doors gameplay presentations for media and business representatives in West Exhibit Hall, as well as presentations for all E3 attendees held at the Cyberpunk 2077 booth in South Exhibit Hall. You can follow the game on Twitter and Facebook to stay up to date with all news or stay tuned to TechRaptor.
