After the State of Decay 2 trailer we got another trailer. It opened with a man hearing a wolf howl in the distance, before someone tried to attack him. He was able to kill the person attacking him before someone else killed him.

There was then a sharp cut to Jethro Tull, a man screaming announcements about the game. It appears to be a multiplayer game where characters could learn skills and craft weapons to fight each other, similar to that of many popular battle royal games. Characters also displayed magical powers, including invisibility and putting up shields to avoid attacks, closer to a class-based shooter.

After the show we got some more information from a press e-mail. The game is an 8 player battle royale arena styled game. 7 of the players will be directly fighting with each other, while the eighth player will play as the game's show director. He can watch the games from a drone, dropping items for other players, causing mutants to attack, or reveal a player's location temporarily. While they didn't give much details on it, games can also be livestreamed and the viewers can help shape the events that happen to the players as well.

While characters will be battling each other in The Darwin Experience, they will also need to survive against the elements. The stages are based on an upcoming ice age, and players will need to keep their characters well fed and warm so that they can survive before reaching each other. Having a great bow won't do you any good if you die of frostbite first.

The Darwin Project is being developed by Scavengers Studios and is coming to the Xbox One and PC in Spring of 2018.
