Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls found a place in the modern gaming world. Xseed Games announced that the title will be released on May 29 through Steam and the Humble Store by Humble Bundle. The cost is low at only $14.99, €14.99, and £12.99, and made even lower by a 10% launch-week discount.

Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls was initially released in 2011 on the PlayStation 3. Developed by Acquire, the dungeon-crawling RPG gave players eight classes and five races to choose from. This allowed players to curate their six-man team with a variety of skills that complement and balance each other. During dungeon exploration, players can situationally change classes or choose to focus on leveling up their primary class.

The Wizardry series as a whole has a storied and interesting past. The very first game in the series was released on the Apple II computer and became one of the most influential games in the role-playing, dungeon-crawling genre, even part of the kickstart of the genre's popularity in Japan. The updated version of Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls is a testament to the series' continual influence so long after its original publisher, Sir-Tech, shut down. Perhaps it will offer a gateway for newcomers to appreciate one of the longstanding grandfathers of dungeon-crawling in a spiffy new light, with it having been so long since the series got a new release in the west.

The new and improved PC port will bring with it necessary improvements and game upgrades. The upgrade to modern PC standards came with polished HD graphics and different resolution support. While this version of Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls is a port of the PS3 title, it is not necessary to use a controller. Keyboard and mouse compatibility is another key feature in the new version, as well as customizable controls. Xseed also teased a new turbo mode, the details of which are unknown. The icing on this sweet re-release cake is that the PC port of Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls will come paired with all previously released DLC content for those of us who want a little more to our dungeons.

If you're into fantastical adventures, dungeon-crawling, and classic RPG elements, this is worth a peek. See if you have what it takes to prevent the Age of Athals from falling into the hands of the Elder Ones, corrupting the world and filling it with monsters. Assemble your crew and set off on an adventure to restore balance to the land!
