Analogue Nt 24k Edition

We all know by now that nostalgia is a very powerful thing, with many of us looking back fondly on the halcyon days of our youth when the Call of Duty's and Assassin's Creed's of the world didn't exist, and our favorite hobby still had Sonic the Hedgehog as one of our proudest mascots. It's hard to put a price on nostalgia, although one company may have figured out a way to do that anyway. If you're looking for a memento of what many consider the golden age of gaming, and you have a couple thousand dollars to spare, there is a place where you can combine your love for retro gaming with frivolous spending of hard-earned cash!

This retro-inspired console is called the Analogue Nt, and it's a reimagining of the classic Nintendo Entertainment System most people who grew up in the early 90s probably had under their TV. This console came out a couple of years ago and is meant to package all the good stuff from the retro console with a design that looks good in any modern home.

And now, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, this company is releasing the Analogue Nt 24K Gold edition. This gold-plated version of the futuristic-looking NES has the same aluminum enclosure as the original Nt, with the slight difference that the entire thing is coated with a thick layer of 24 karat gold in a beautiful limited edition box, the option of using RGD cables or an HDMI cable to hook it up to your TV, and an original gold colored version of the The Legend of Zelda NES cartridge.

The price for all this luxurious nostalgia? $4999. And it's limited to 10 units, so if you want to get your hands on this you may have to be quick about it!

I've been playing games since I was just barely able to walk so I might as well write about them.
