White Wolf & DriveThruRPG have teamed up to launch a self-publishing platform for fan-based fiction & unofficial RPG supplements called the Storytellers Vault according to a blog post on White Wolf’s website.
The Storytellers Vault is a system where fans who have created fiction or RPG supplements for certain White Wolf games can upload them to the platform, improve them, and sell them for a 50% share in the revenue. Content creators will be able to set the price to whatever they desire, and they can publish it in a language of their choosing to best accommodate anyone from the worldwide tabletop community. At the moment, the system is limited to certain Vampire: The Masquerade properties, and even then there are some restrictions on what you can and cannot use at the moment.
15 distinct art packs, a number of templates, and other supplemental materials are available for anyone to visually enhance their content for the Storytellers Vault. White Wolf cautions that individuals may not use art from other White Wolf properties or from sources for which they do not have a proper license to do so. The limited amount of content in place is set to gradually expand in the future, adding more art packs, allowable base works, and supplemental materials beginning in October 2017.
Interested creators of fiction and RPG supplements alike can browse through the FAQ to get a better idea of how the system works as well as what is and is not allowed on the platform. If you’d like to try your hand at the Storytellers Vault, White Wolf & DriveThruRPG have it all ready to go right now at www.storytellersvault.com.
