In a not so unusual move from Ubisoft, Watch Dogs 2 on the PC has been delayed to November 29th. The game will still be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 15th. In other news related to the PC version, Ubisoft has detailed their minimum and recommended specs for Watch Dogs 2.

The PC version being delayed is not too surprising, considering it's happened more than a few times with the Assassin's Creed series. And with what's happened in the past on things like Assassin's Creed Unity, most should be fine with the delay on PC.

Onto the recommended specs. Here is the minimum:

  • Supported OS (64-bit versions only) Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10
  • Processor Intel Core i5 2400S @ 2.5 GHz | AMD FX 6120 @ 3.5 GHz
  • RAM 6GB
  • Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 (2GB) | AMD Radeon HD 7870 (2GB) or better
  • Hard Disk Space 50 GB

And here is the recommended:

  • Supported OS (64-bit versions only) Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10
  • Processor Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.2GHz | AMD FX 8120 @ 3.9 GHz
  • RAM 8GB
  • Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 (3GB) | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (4GB) | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (3GB) or better | AMD Radeon R9 290 (4GB) or better
  • Hard Disk Space 50 GB

The specs aren't crazy and are fairly standard for most AAA games coming out these days. Those that game primarily on PC shouldn't be too surprised here.

The post detailing the specs has a few other tidbits worth mentioning as well. Watch Dogs 2 will have 4K support, no FPS cap, SLI/Crossfire support at launch, and more. The most interesting is what they refer to as "stuttering/lag framerate optimization that is explained as follows:

We employed a fix that makes all controls much more responsive and less framerate-related. We’ve optimized resource creation, GPU VRAM upload and required VRAM for the game.

Those were some complaints in some Ubisoft games in the past, and the fact they are giving it some specific attention is likely a good sign.

There are more details here for the PC version, like graphic features, graphic settings, controls, and more.
