Fans of the Warriors games will have something new to look forward to next year. Warriors Orochi 4 is getting an expansion in the form of an Ultimate edition, adding new characters and new story lines.

The Warriors Orochi series was created as a Dynasty Warriors meets Samurai Warriors crossover game. The third entry, Warriors Orochi 3, changed it up a bit by adding in a few guest characters from other series to the playable characters list, but it seems like Koei decided to go back to its roots for Warriors Orochi 4. However the expansion is bringing back this feature with a pair of guest characters. Ninja Gaiden's Ryu Hayabusa and Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War's Joan of Arc will both be playable in this new version. In addition to those two, Greek titan Gaia will also be joining the cast. Koei says that there will be a total of 177 playable characters, up from 170 in the original game, meaning there's still four more characters to be announced.

Koei also says that there will be some new storylines in the battle between Greek and Norse gods. One will focus on why Zeus decided to make the anti-Odin coalition. There will also a new "true ending" that you can earn. In addition to this there will be a new Infinity Mode and Sacred Treasures for you to play with, giving even more options for returning players to mess around.

Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate will be available in February 2020 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. You can get it as either a DLC upgrade for the original game, or as a standalone game for a currently unknown price.

Excited for the new characters? Hoping a specific one gets in? Have any idea why Greek and Norse gods needed to summon a bunch of Chinese and Japanese warriors to fight for them when both phaetons have plenty of warriors of their own? Let us know in the comments below!
