Warhammer: Vermintide 2 has received patch 1.5 today, finally adding some much-missed features to the game. Firstly the patch adds new weekly events to spice up the gameplay for veteran players. According to the news post on the game's steam community, the weekly events will act as mutators to change how the rules of the games work, and will almost certainly come with special rewards for completing matches with them turned on.

One of the most major points on the latest update for the game is the inclusion of mechanics that will finally allow players to fill the portrait spaces on their keeps walls with painting. These decorative paintings were featured back in the games beta stages, but since then have been left blank hung around the world of each players central hub. With update 1.5 players will be able to explore the world and collect art fragments which will be used to unlock the different painting on different walls around the keep.

The update also adds minor tweaks to other aspects of the game. For instance, those players who own the collectors edition will now be able to access the music from the DLC levels in the soundtrack as well as from the base game. Another major change is the increase of experience points for players on lower levels of difficulty, allowing players who don't want to play on Legendary difficulty to level up at a much quicker pace in an attempt to bridge the gap between the two groups of players.

If you are wanting to pick up Warhammer: Vermintide 2, it's currently available as one of the Humble Monthly unlocks for March, meaning you can pick it up as part of a collection of games for as little as $12.

Quick Take

I can already feel the anger that some of these changes are going to make in the Vermintide community. There are certainly going to be a lot of annoyed legendary players who want to gate keep the higher levels free of 'newbs. Honestly, I think it's a great change. It allows people to get to a decent level without forcing themselves to play on harder difficulties. If anything it should really be making Legendary level players happy.
