Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor Martyr was originally planned for release on 21 May 2018 and was recently delayed for release on PC and consoles to 05 June 2018, but Neocore Games have announced a further delay to the console release.

PC users can still play via Steam Early Access, and a PC release is still planned for 05 June 2018, but Xbox One and PlayStation 4 users can now expect a release around July 5th according to a statement on Neocore Games’ official forum.

As for the background of this delay… well. Despite the complexity of the project and the size of our studio, we really wanted to pull of a simultaneous multi-platform release, but for the best possible release quality, this hard decision had to be made. Console versions will now benefit from an extra month of attention.

The official press release reads:

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyris an ambitious action-RPG, with vast and complex mechanics. With such an immense gameplay experience – entirely redesigned for console players – the development studio, Neocore, will need additional time to perfect the game’s unique functionalities, such as local multiplayer and procedural map generation. In order to ensure the best possible quality of the game, the development team is taking this extra time to refine the final details of the game.”

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor Martyr is a third-person open-world, sandbox action RPG set in Games Workshops’ battle filled Warhammer 40,000 Universe. Warhammer 40,000 (Warhammer 40K or W40K) is best known for its tabletop wargames but has also seen many video game incarnations.

Inquisitors are powerful witch hunters with huge resources behind them. They protect mankind from demons and heretics and have the authority to destroy entire planets by their will alone. They are judge, jury, and executioner and in Inquisitor Martyr, you and up to 4 friends can purge the galaxy of the unclean.
