Relic Entertainment and SEGA have revealed the official release date for the third installment of the RTS game based on the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III will hit stores on April 27th and will once again put you in control of some of the main factions from the tabletop game as you battle for galaxy-wide domination.

Dawn of War III immerses players in the escalating brutality of galactic warfare, where they will lead elite hero units and colossal armies to victory, or oblivion. Powerful super walkers will tower over the front lines as screenshaking assaults blister the battlefield in an allout, overthetop spectacle worthy of the iconic Games Workshop Warhammer 40,000 universe.
The reveal of the release date came with a new trailer for the game introducing the Masters of War skin pack, which you'll get on launch if you decide to pre-order any version of the game. This pack consists of three skins for the Super Walker Elite units.

There are 3 versions of the game you can get:

  • Standard Edition: this will get you the base game including the Masters of War Skin Pack.
  • Limited Edition: All of the above including a premium disc book, a lenticular art card and the official score of the game.
  • Collector's Edition: All of the above including a replica of the 'Godspitter Daemon Hammer' and 3 cloth faction banners.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III  is the third installment of this beloved franchise and the first new entry since 2009. The relatively small-scale gameplay from the second game has been removed from the game in favor of more bombastic and dramatic fights the universe is known for.

I've been playing games since I was just barely able to walk so I might as well write about them.
