A patch is coming next week for Apex Legends that will address many common complaints about the game. These complaints include hit detection, audio performance, and more.

Respawn is primarily looking at fixing cases of incorrect hit registration in Apex Legends. The team says it's added some behind-the-scenes tracking of bullet damage logic. There will still be issues with hit detection, but this new patch will make it easier for the devs to detect and squash these bugs. As part of the hit detection improvements, Respawn is refining the functionality of its network problem indicators. Hit detection problems can be caused by bad connections, says Respawn, so knowing when your connection is dropping out could narrow down the cause of further bugs.

The upcoming patch also focuses heavily on Apex Legends' audio performance. Players have been reporting issues of dropped sounds, missing sounds, or extended distortion. Respawn says the new patch will improve both code and content so these issues will either disappear or be less noticeable for most players. The audio engine is now around 30% more CPU efficient, which lessens the chances of distortion or dropouts. Certain sounds will now also be louder or quieter depending on priority. This patch will also include some bug fixes and a workaround for a particularly nasty Intel-related crash bug. You can check out the full patch notes here.

We don't yet know exactly when this patch will land. Respawn says it'll post on the official Apex Legends Reddit when the patch is ready for all platforms. We're sure the game's 50 million players will be looking forward to these fixes being implemented. While you wait, you can check out TechRaptor's quick thoughts on the game, available in video or audio format.
