Uncharted 4

Uncharted 4 : A Thief's End live gameplay demo was shown moments ago live at the Playstation Experience in Las Vegas.

The 15 minute live gameplay of Uncharted 4 went pretty smoothly, except for one small hiccup where Nathan Drake fell through the world and died, which you can see below. (Credit to Big Cheese Gaming for the video)

The demo resumed at a checkpoint and everything else went pretty smoothly, which is nice because it shows that it isn't all fabricated footage and was genuine gameplay. The video you see above seems to be either edited or pre-recorded, as the glitch does not appear there. But I can guarantee that it is at least very similar to what I saw from the stream, and there were no notable frame rate drops or game breaking glitches.

As far as the content of the demo went, it all seemed like standard Uncharted fare; sweeping vistas, lush detail, Nathan Drake's one liners and godly upper body strength were all present. Some new mechanics include a Tomb Raider-style grappling hook, which was used for some interesting traversal and enemy takedowns. The gunplay looked very similar to Uncharted 3, but polished up a little, using a similar hud to The Last of Us. One of the bigger reveals right at the end of the trailer is a cutscene where Nathan Drake rendezvous with his brother, who as far as I know is a new character. Overall, it looks very promising, and I will almost certainly buy it.

If you're interested in seeing what else the PlayStation Experience show in Las Vegas has to offer, you can watch it live right now, here. Especially if you're interested in getting one of those slick 20th anniversary PS4's, because at some point the keynote will inform you on how you'll be able to get your mits on one of the 12.300 that will be produced.

*Update* Added video of the glitch that happened during the stream. Also corrected the number of 20th anniversary PS4's, from 12,600, to 12,300.
