Looks like fans of Nathan Drake are going to be waiting just a little bit longer.

The fourth entry to Naughty Dog's Uncharted series has been delayed to May 10th, 2016. This isn't the first time the game has been delayed. Originally Uncharted 4: A Thief's End was supposed to come out in Fall 2015, but it was delayed until March 18th, 2016. The reason given then is that they wanted more time to work on the ending. Then back in December it was delayed from its release date of March 18th, 2016 to a new release date of April 27th, 2016. That time the reason given was so that the game would meet their standards.

No specific reason has been given for the delay yet, with Sony's PlayStation Blog post saying "In an effort to meet the considerable worldwide demand, and to ensure that all gamers worldwide have the opportunity to play the game on day one, we have chosen to postpone the launch of the game by two weeks to allow for extra manufacturing time."

Recently Naughty Dog has been in hot water with the Uncharted series. A recent trailer for the game had artwork taken from Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag without permission, something Naughty Dog has since apologized for

A Multiplayer beta stress test has also been planned for this week, beginning on March 4th and running for the weekend.

If this release date holds, then Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will be coming out May 10th, 2016 exclusively for the PlayStation 4.

Quick Take:

On one hand, delays are no fun. I should know: one of the first release dates, the March 18th one, was my birthday. On the other hand I understand that creating video games is an insanely complicated process that requires an absurd amount of work. I'm sure whatever reason Naughty Dog and Sony has for this delay it's probably a good one. Here's to hoping that Uncharted 4 will be another fantastic entry to the series, even if it's a late one. Now I just need to work out a different gift for myself.
