Resident Evil's online shooter spin-off, Umbrella Corps had some new information reveled about it recently. Umbrella Corps was originally announced at Sony's 2015 Tokyo Game Show conference to some negative reactions comparing it to the failed Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.

Yet it seems that Capcom is determined to push ahead with the game, and have announced a second game mode for it. This mode is called Multi-Mission mode, and it involves two teams of three playing five rounds with constantly changing objectives. Capcom laid out some of the possible objectives, which includes modes like a team deathmatch, a one-flag capture the flag, a zombie DNA collection mode, and another mode that sounds similar to Call of Duty's popular Kill Confirmed mode. Multi-Mission mode joins the already announced One Life Match mode, which also involved two teams of three. This time it's just a simple deathmatch where everyone only has a single life.

Umbrella Corps promises fast action and plans to set itself apart from the crowd with its quick three-minute rounds and zombie filled maps. The trailers show off characters using zombies as shields, using special axes to climb around the environment and fight with each other, and using special zombie-repellent backpacks to keep the zombies off of them. Another recent trailer also showed off a map based on Resident Evil 4's infamous village, and teased a Resident Evil 5 map as well.

This year is also the 20th anniversary of the Resident Evil franchise. While Umbrella Corps is Capcom's only planned new release this year, they have quite a few plans as far as bringing the old games back. They started this year by porting Resident Evil Zero to both current and last gen consoles. This month will see a port of Resident Evil 6 hitting both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and ports of Resident Evil 4 and 5 are coming down the line. Capcom is also currently working on a remake of Resident Evil 2.

Umbrella Corps is currently slated to release May 2016 on the PlayStation 4 and PC for $29.99.
