UK Interactive Entertainment (Ukie) has revealed the country’s top 40 pieces of entertainment software for 2018.

Unsurprisingly, Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 topped the year’s chart shortly after it hit number one at Christmas. The game was also the top selling physical game in the UK’s final trading week of 2018. This final week ran until December 29th.

FIFA 19 hit second place, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate placing third and fourth, respectively. You can read the top 40 over at the website, but here are the top 10 games for week 52, 2018:

Red Dead Redemption 2 – Rockstar Games FIFA 19 – EA Sports Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 – Activision Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – Nintendo Battlefield V – EA Games Forza Horizon 4 – Microsoft Spyro Reignited Trilogy – Activision Mario Kart 8 – Nintendo Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy – Activision Marvel’s Spider-Man – Sony Computer Entertainment

The chart is courtesy of UKIE and Chart-Track.

We can expect powerhouse titles like Red Dead, Smash Bros, Spider-Man, and Mario Kart hitting the top 10. However, it’s great to see classics like Crash and Spyro stay up there. The interest for remasters like these leads to even more like Crash Team Racing.

However, it’s important to note that these numbers do not represent digital sales - only physical ones. Also, we can expect these stats to hold throughout January. The significant titles this month are Kingdom Hearts 3, New Super Mario Bros. U, and the Resident Evil 2 remake. There are some smaller games worth checking out, though. Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition, Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr.’s Journey, and The Walking Dead: The Final Season Episode 3 come to mind.

Telltale, the former developers of The Walking Dead, had broken up due to financial mismanagement last year. Fortunately for series fans, Skybound Games took over development and will be releasing the final episodes.

Ukie is a non-profit company that represents the UK games and interactive entertainment industry.
