The Twitter page for the Ubisoft Club confirmed today that Assassin's Creed III will be free next month as part of their UBI30 program celebrating the 30th anniversary of the French developer.

Starting on December 7th, Uplay users can download Assassin's Creed III for a limited time. You can log in to claim the title for your Uplay account. If you don't have Uplay, you can sign up for free and download the launcher for PC.

On the UBI30 website right now, the free game is Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. You can add the title to your library for free until December 7th. After that, you won't be able to download Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon anymore. That's when Assassin's Creed III takes its place as the final free title.

Ubisoft started the UBI30 celebration to celebrate, as you might guess, their 30th anniversary. The celebration started in June with a free download of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

After that, Ubisoft offered Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell in July. For August, the company gave away Rayman Origins. In September, Ubisoft gave away The Crew. Last month, the title to download was Beyond Good & Evil, a title with a sequel in the works. Ubisoft announced the sequel several years ago but they've revealed almost nothing since. However, there is a rumor that Nintendo may be funding it for their Switch console, a la Bayonetta 2.

This is part of the Ubisoft 30 Days of Giveaways that is going on right now, with today's thing being a Ubisoft Do It Yourself Advent calendar.

As mentioned previously, this month's current title is Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. Be sure to pencil December 7th in your calendar so  you can download Assassin's Creed III!

Quick Take

I think that the UBI30 celebration is awesome. Free games with no strings attached is always a nice bonus! I've never played Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon so it'll be nice to check it out. However I have played Assassin's Creed III. I found it to be one of the more boring entries to be honest, but it certainly can't hurt to try it out for free!
