In addition to some original content for Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey coming with the game’s season pass, players were happy to find out they’d get to play a remastered version of Assassin’s Creed III. Today, Ubisoft released details on what you can expect from this remaster.

Ubisoft outlines the game’s premise for the uninitiated (although it’s the same as its original release):

Ignite the American Revolution as Connor, the master assassin born of the beauty and the brutality of 18th century America. As a bloody revolution draws ever nearer, your clan is threatened by a powerful group seeking to crush the American Revolution and control the thirteen colonies. Shocked into action by the devastation of your village, you pledge your life to the cause of freedom, and embark on a decades-long quest to achieve it.

The remastered edition features DLC from the original game as well. This includes the Benedict Arnold Missions, Hidden Secrets Pack, and Tyranny of King Washington episodes. But that’s not all! Assassin’s Creed Liberation–the full game–will also be included with enhanced visuals for the Xbox One X, PS4 Pro, and the original version of those consoles.

Like Liberation, Assassin’s Creed 3 will also have enhancements, as Ubisoft outlined in its FAQ:

– Resolution upscale allowing you to play in 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro, Xbox One X and PC, and 1080p on PS4 and Xbox One.
– Higher resolution textures
– New character models
– New lighting rendering system : Physically Based Rendering
– Denser crowd, environments and VFX

Expect to play Assassin’s Creed III Remastered after at least the first DLC for Odyssey. The first DLC on the season pass, Legacy of the First Blade, is an episodic adventure that releases December 2018. The Fate of Atlantis is also episodic in nature and will be out in Spring 2019.

I love to write, and I love to game. So, I've combined those two hobbies into one! Some of my favorite games include Fire Emblem, Halo, The Elder Scrolls, and World of Warcraft. Sometimes I like to read the occasional fantasy novel, too!
