Twitter has created a service that automatically promotes your tweets for $99 a month and is currently testing in a closed beta as reported by übergizmo.
After having lost a million users and $116 million in the second quarter of 2017, Twitter has begun testing a service that will automatically promote your tweets for a subscription of $99 a month. The program was revealed by Twitter user Matt Navarra who posted a tweet that details how it all works:

In the case of Mr. Navarra (and probably other people testing this feature), he’ll get the first 30 days free and be charged $99 a month thereafter. Within 5 days of signing up, the promotions will kick in for his tweets and profile. After that, a biweekly report will come in highlighting new followers, additional engagement, and growth in other metrics since signing up for the program.
For the moment, promoting a tweet is a multi-step process. You have to select the tweet, target a region that you would like for it to be promoted to, and then set a budget. In essence, promoting a tweet operates similarly to running an ad on many other platforms. This $99/month program appears to be a system that will automate much of this process across your entire profile.
There are a lot of unknowns remaining about this programming. How much promotion they get, where that promotion is targeted, and other factors are all unknown quantities. Since the program is relatively new and in testing, we also don’t yet have any idea what kind of results someone subscribing to this program would expect. No announcements have been made on if or when this program will be open to the wider public.
