Streaming giant Twitch has announced new perks for members who link their Twitch accounts with their Amazon Prime accounts; the company will be offering "Twitch Prime" membership which is included as a part of Amazon Prime. Twitch Prime has several perks to it, the biggest of which is the ability to subscribe for free to one channel every thirty days, as well as being able to view streams ad-free (streamers who have viewers subscribe using the Twitch Prime free channel subscription will still be paid for the subscription).

Other perks this service will offer include Amazon discounts on new box games during their preorder periods (and for up to two weeks after the game release), select "game loot" such as various cosmetic options, in-game items, and free games (like the indie title Streamline), and exclusive Twitch chat emojis and badges. For those who are attending TwitchCon, two additional "game loot" items are available: a character skin for "Boss Ymir" in SMITE, and a "Bomb King" weapon skin for Paladins: Champions of the Realm.

Additionally, to celebrate the launch of their new "premium experience", Twitch will be running two launch events both of which will begin today, September 30, 2016. The first is a charity stream for GameChanger Charity that will be running until October 05. 2016; Twitch Prime will be donating $100,000 for every 100,000 new subscriptions to any channel on Twitch, regardless of whether the subscription is done normally or through the free Twitch Prime subscription.

The second launch event runs until November 06, 2016, and will feature top players of the online collective card game Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft holding special exhibition matches and discussing the games meta environment. Twitch Prime members will have access to the newest Hearthstone hero, Tyrande Whisperwind.

While Twitch Prime has a lot of similarities to the pre-existing Twitch Turbo service, Twitch will not be cancelling Turbo subscriptions for anyone who currently owns a subscription. However, Turbo will no longer be offered in the countries where Prime is available, and Turbo benefits will be rolled into those of Prime.

Twitch Prime is available starting today, September 30, 2016, to anyone living in the United States, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, and Canada regions. Twitch or Amazon Prime members who wish to link their accounts can do so here; signing up for Amazon Prime nets you a free thirty-day trial period, after which Amazon Prime will be automatically upgraded to the paid subscription which costs  $10.99 per month (or $99 for a full year).
