Turok 2 Seeds of Evil

Turok returns to PCs on March 16th, with the release of the remastered edition of Turok 2: Seeds of Evil. The critically acclaimed FPS by Acclaim Entertainment was first released back in 1998 for the Nintendo 64, with a PC release in February of 1999.

The remastered game will feature the classic Turok gameplay, where players will use a variety of creative weapons to eviscerate dinosaurs and mutants in large, sprawling worlds. Over 20 new weapons, including the popular Cerebral Bore (mentioned in our article about FPS weapons), were added to the franchise with Turok 2, as were improvements to the games split-screen multi-player.

Turok 2 was a smash success for the Nintendo 64, selling over a million units for Acclaim back in 1998.

The remaster is being spearheaded by Night Dive studios - the development team behind the remaster of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter in 2015- and will feature HD textures and other updates to the game.

Nightdive Studios is well known for restoring older PC games for platforms such as Steam. Some of their big titles remastered by the team include classic PC titles such as System ShockSystem Shock 2, The 7th Guest and I Have No Mouth But I Must Scream, as well as multi-platform titles such as Shadow Man. Recently, Nightdive Studios completed a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised over $1.35 million for the reboot of System Shock.

"Turok 2: Seeds of Evil does more than just continue the series," stated CEO and founder of Night Dive Studios Steven Kick. "From the moment that a player first begins their quest in the Port of Adia, they will face a whole new series of challenges and puzzles to solve. Players will also get to use a whole new series of weapons to overcome these challenges. And best of all, players will get to use these weapons against their friends in multiplayer mode!”

The remaster of Turok 2 will be released on March 16th, 2017 on Steam.
