If you're an Xbox One owner hankering for a slice of good old-fashioned JRPG action, you're in luck. Tears of Avia is a strategy JRPG landing on Steam and Xbox One later this year.

In Tears of Avia, you'll decide the fate of the world of Estera, a land embroiled in a conflict between two huge city-states. Tirig is a military land which worships the Gods, while Helmgar is a land of Godless heretics. Developer CooCooSqueaky is promising a story in which you'll discover the secrets behind long-abandoned cities and discover where your own morality ultimately lies. You can check out the trailer for Tears of Avia below:

Gameplay in Tears of Avia revolves around turn-based strategic combat. You'll assemble a cast from dozens of playable characters across five different classes. Each character has their own upgrade and leveling tree, so you'll be able to customize and build your perfect squad. Abilities can be combined to create devastating combos or protect your party from deadly enemy attacks. This being a strategy game, there will also be plenty of status effects to combine and use against your enemies. Only through careful planning can you achieve victory.

Tears of Avia is also promising a branching narrative in which your choices have a discernible impact. Building a party with characters from all sides of the ongoing conflict in Estera may not be to your advantage. Doing so can cause infighting and judgment from outside. It's up to you to navigate the forests, tombs, and towers of Estera, building a combat-ready party and negotiating the muddy waters of conflict.

You'll be able to get your hands on Tears of Avia later this year. If you're lucky enough to be heading to EGX 2019, there's also a booth for the game there. While you wait, you can wishlist Tears of Avia on Steam.
