XSEED Games have announced their release of Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection will hit Windows PC (including GOG alongside Steam and Humble) on October 31st. The game will be available for $29.99, with a 10% launch discount. The title will also retail for 29.99 euros or 24.99 British pounds on launch, depending on your region.
Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection was Nihon Falcom's last PC exclusive release when it came out in Japan all the way back in 2008. XSEED's version is based on the Japanese Zwei II Plus release and will include "visual improvements" and a full English localization, including dubbed lines for 2000 voiced lines exclusive to this release. Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection has players taking control of dual protagonists Ragna and Alwen in their quest to recover Alwen's stolen magical power, as well as her ancestral castle. XSEED has released a new trailer for the game to commemorate the game's official launch date, which we have embedded below.
Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection features a real-combat system supplemented by a unique food-based experience system, where you eat food to level up (not unlike last year's Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir), and players can also raise pets to help fight aside them in their quest to reclaim the castle. Both Ragna and Alwen have their own unique movesets - Ragna's unique weapons, and Alwen's powerful magics - which will be necessary to tackle the game's many levels and bosses when the title releases later this month. Stay tuned for our review, which we'll be hard at work preparing closer to the game's release.
