Got plans for Valentine's day? Now you do! The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II, the second entry in Nihon Falcom’s critically acclaimed Cold Steel series, has been announced for PC release on February 14, 2018, by English publisher XSEED. The first two entries in the series were originally released in North America on Playstation 3 and PS Vita in 2015 for the first game and 2016 for II. The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel was subsequently ported to PC and released on August 2, 2017, and the sequel was announced to also be destined for a PC port.

In addition to the higher framerates and improved texture enhancements that the first game received when ported, Trails of Cold Steel II will also have support for ultra-wide resolutions, Turbo mode and the ability to launch the game directly from the most recent save, bypassing the main screen. It will also include over 50% more voiced lines from the original English voice cast. The cast includes industry veterans like Kirk Thornton, Ashly Burch, Matthew Mercer and Kimberly Brooks. Trails of Cold Steel II will also have the ability to continue your save game from the first, allowing for greater continuity and the impact of your decisions to carry over across the storyline.

Trails of Cold Steel II is followed by III which was released in Japan in September 2017 and the series will be concluded in 2018’s installment Trails of Cold Steel IV.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II will be available for purchase via GOG, Steam and Humble Bundle. It will retail for $39.99 with a 10% launch week discount on these platforms. If you want to find out more about it, you can read our review of it here.
