Tracks - The Train Set Game

Tracks - The Train Set Game, a wooden toy train simulator developed by Whoop Group and published by Excalibur Games, will debut on Steam Early Access on September 28, 2017, according to a press release from the publisher.

The classic wooden train set toys are being brought into the digital world with Tracks - The Train Set Game. The track builder will be easy enough to use but allow for players to shape their track as they like with the pieces at hand. Despite the name, it seems that you'll be able to do more than simply place tracks - you can place other objects and scenery to enhance the aesthetic of whatever you may envision. Have a gander at the gameplay trailer to get an idea of what Whoop Group is aiming to do with this game:

As shown here, the game will have a "free build" mode where you can create train sets however you might like within the limitations of the game. However, there will be other types of levels available (such as a bedroom) where you can relive your days of scattering your creations all over the floors and furniture. Steam Workshop integration is being looked into by the developers, so if they follow through you would be able to upload your creations to Steam to share with other people.

A track-building playset would be novel enough on its own, but this sandbox will also have a bit of gameplay if you'd like to take a crack at it. Objectives will be available for players up to the challenge - you'll ferry commuters, move cargo, and try to design trains that meet certain specifications of speed and balance. Tracks - The Train Set Game will be available on Steam Early Access on September 28, 2017.
