Italian games studio LKA.it and independent publisher and developer Wired Productions have announced that they will be donating money from every sale of Town of Light between August 16th and September 6th to charities supporting mental health including Take This, Inc. This is the first activity in a year long campaign to raise awareness to the importance of mental health. First person psychological story adventure game Town of Light is available to purchase digitally from various online retailers to support this cause.

The game follows sixteen year old Renee who struggles with mental illness. Based on real facts and extensive research, The Town of Light explores Renee’s past as she searches for answers. Players will go on a dark and emotional journey filled with interactive storytelling.

The Town of Light, because of the themes of mental health within the game and its grounding in reality, starts the conversation. Our duty is to stand together and continue that conversation, not only to ensure that we dispel the stigma around mental health, but also to ensure that those who feel alone know that they are not, and are given the help they often desperately need. This promotion, alongside our extended campaign for awareness, form only a small part of a much greater picture, but we hope they will touch many lives.
25% of the net sales from The Town of Light between Aug 16th and Sep 6th will be put in a special fund for supporting mental health charities. Many digital retailers will also be offering a 20% discount during this period. This fund will help fund many of the mental health services that Take This, Inc offers such as providing resources, education and “AFK Rooms”-staffed mental wellness spaces-at popular video game events like PAX. More events and partnerships promoting mental health awareness will come throughout the year and will be announced throughout the campaign.
