After several months of hinting tweets towards a new Tony Hawk game, Activision, Robomondo, and Disruptive Games finally officially announced Tony Hawks’s Pro Skater 5. As expected from the title the game is going to be returning to the classic gameplay style of the originals.
Besides Hawk (duh) other skaters set to be included in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 are: Nyjah Huston, Aaron Homoki, Ishod Wair, Riley Hawk, Lizzie Armanto, Chris Cole, David Gonzalez, Leticia Bufoni, and Andrew Reynolds. Game Informer broke the news and will have a six-page feature in their June issue.
The game will include all new levels, objectives, and missions. You can play solo, or with your friends via online co-op and competitive play. Your character will have a level that you can increase through online and offline play, the online to offline is said to be seamless. Created skate parks will also make a return and you will be able to share them online. Hawk tweeted out that he was working on a console game for a 2015 release back in Nov. 2014.
I’m currently working with Activision on a console game for 2015 (along with a new mobile game). I think fans of THPS series will be hyped.

Then there was the picture tweeted by Chef Joe Youkhan who had been catering a Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 party of some kind with a Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 logo on a screen in the background.
Hopefully we will be getting more details in the coming months, like an official release date, but until then there are some screen shots that Game Informer has posted on their site to tide us over. Give us your thoughts in the comments, are you excited about the new Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5? What new features or mechanics would you like to see in the game?
