Three New Titles Are Joining The Switch Lineup

The Nintendo Switch is now less than a week away from its launch and as well as giving Nindies their own Nindies Showcase video this Tuesday, Nintendo has also announced three more indie titles that will be joining the day one lineup for the Switch. Joining the other Nintendo Switch launch titles FAST RMXShovel Knight: Specter of Torment, and Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove will be available to play on March 3rd.shovel knight treasure trove nintendo switch

RAST RMX is a game from Shien'en Multimedia that allows you to not only challenge your friends locally in RMX, a lightning-fast anti-gravity racecar, but you will also be able to race against others online. The two Shovel Knight games are from Yacht Club Games, Specter of Torment is the new DLC for the base game allowing players to play through a new campaign from the point of view of Specter Knight, a character who was previously one of the main antagonists, this game will also be released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch for a limited time before it is available for all other versions of the game. Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove is an all-in-one pack that Yacht Club Games is releasing that will have the original Shovel Knight and all of the previously available DLC available, including the new Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment. This title will also have a timed exclusivity for the Switch, but at the moment the length of time has not been announced.

As well as the game releases, Nintendo also announced some more news in relation to their Nintendo eShop. The announcements are as follows:

  • If you already have funds on your Nintendo account on other devices then you will instantly have access to them as soon as you link your Nintendo Switch to your Nintendo account.
  • There will be no Virtual Console available at launch, but that more information will be revealed about when the Virtual Console will be added.
  • There will be a News feature that will not only keep you up to date with all the latest news of additions to the eShop but will also provide updates.
  • There will be a day one patch for the Switch, you will need to download this update before you're able to access the eshop. These system updates will also download in the background and install quickly, this is to ensure that your game isn't disturbed for too long.
