It seems a minor hiccup on THQ Nordic's backend has prematurely revealed an upcoming Switch port of Darksiders Warmastered Edition.

The first trailer (courtesy of GameXplain) simply features the game's logo and a Switch logo. It also links to the original source: a now-defunct page on THQ Nordic's website with "DarksidersWME_StoreTrailer_Switch_US" in the URL. THQ Nordic took the page down as soon as people discovered the yet-to-announced trailer.

The trailer was immediately taken down and replaced with this GIF.

Neither trailer reveals a release date for the Switch version, but expect the official announcement soon.

Darksiders: Warmastered Edition initially launched for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in late 2016, before eventually coming to the Wii U in May 2017. It was one of the console's last major releases and it sold terribly on the dying platform. Something tells us a Switch version would do much better.

In other Switch news, the Switch version of Mortal Kombat 11 has been delayed in Europe. The game is slated for a worldwide release April 23rd on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, but the Switch version has been delayed to May 10.

Check out our review of the most recent game in the series, Darksiders 3, which called it "a solid third entry in the series".

Quick Take

I recently played the PS4 version of Darksiders: Warmastered Edition after reviewing Darksiders 3. I'd forgotten just how fun that game is. It's extremely Zelda and I'd totally forgotten they literally give you a Portal gun, but the game still holds up. A Switch port seems like a sensible thing to do.

What do you think? Will you be picking up Darksiders: Warmastered Edition when it inevitably lands on Switch? Are you hoping they also port Darksiders 2Let us know in the comments!
