Numantian Games has released a level editor and workshop for They Are Billions after two weeks of public testing.

To access custom levels created by the community, go to New Game, and select Custom Levels. Once you've subscribed to a few custom maps on the Steam Workshop, they'll appear there.

To get to the workshop, click on the Custom Levels dashboard, which will link you to the They Are Billions Workshop. Once you find levels that you like, press the Subscribe button. If you want to do this outside of the game, go here.

For those of you that would like a level editing guide, click here.

To launch the editor, there are three ways. The first would have players go to the main menu and click on more and then click on the Launch Editor option. If you want to go straight to the editor, press and hold shift when joining the game and the editor will be launched automatically. If you want shortcut to save to your taskbar, go to the game installation folder and click on LaunchEditor.bat to launch it directly.

These are the main features of the level editor:
  • Map creation can be manually crafted or let the game generates a random survival map when the game starts.
  • Custom events.
  • Custom scripts to enhance the narrative.
  • Advanced ZXCode language (variables and functions) to create complex gameplay mechanisms.
  • Multi-language support.
With the editor released, Numantian Games now feels that they can spend more time on the campaign for They Are Billions' campaign, which they would like to release in Spring 2019. During that time, they are going to improve the Survival Mode by adding two new Map Themes and expanding the editor to make it more powerful.
