Dauntless gets a brand new trailer to coincide with a new content announcement and new console ports in April.

The trailer showcased some of the four-player action with the RPG, with the always colorful-looking avatars taking on a dragon-like behemoth with a mix of fantasy and flashy moves, all to grab a tooth off of the beast before another, fire-slinging behemoth appears from the ground.

CEO of Phoenix Labs, Jesse Houston, talks more about Dauntless after the quick trailer, revealing that the game is coming to consoles soon, and that their latest content drop, Frostfall 2018.

“At Phoenix Labs we define ourselves through a transparent development relationship with our community and strong focus on inclusivity, both at the studio and in our game,” said Houston. “With our upcoming platform launches in April and One Dauntless, we will soon be able to welcome and connect players worldwide like never before. The journey of Dauntless is just beginning in the ever-evolving online world of the Shattered Isles, and we’re excited to share many more years of experiences with our players.”

Frostfall 2018 will introduce a frozen world to explore and engage new behemoth, the ice-monster known as the Valomyr, to hunt. In addition to the Valomyr, The Dauntless Hunt Pass was also released, which will provide players with new challenges and big rewards starting today. The Hunt Pass is offering in-game activities and challenges that players can purchase for $10.00 to earn a collection of exclusive items, emotes, cosmetics and more. The content will be available from now until January 9th, 2019.

As for bringing to Dauntless to consoles, Houston has previously noted that the game will be released simultaneously for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with support from the Epic Games store. The hope is to make the game available for cross-platform play between the two systems, with a Nintendo Switch and Mobile version of the game to come later after the April launch.

All of this is part of Phoenix Lab's initiative, titled One Dauntless, where the developers hope to have worldwide cross-platform play and account management across all current game systems.

the console versions of Dauntless come to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in April 2019, with the Switch and Mobile versions coming later in 2019.
