Supermassive Games, developers of Until Dawn, first announced their new horror game, then known simply as The Dark Pictures – Man of Medan, in August 2018. Now they have just announced that the game will release a full year later on August 30 this year. So if you were looking for a new horror experience from the UK developer, here’s your opportunity to try out The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan before Fall. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
The story of Man of Medan starts off on a dive boat in the South Pacific ocean. A crew of four young Americans are hoping to find some rumored WWII wreck in the ocean, but they’ll also be doing plenty of on-deck partying. As it usually happens, the trip doesn’t quite go according to plan. As the day unfolds and a storm rolls in, the group of characters finds themselves on board of a ghost ship. As the stress and terror of the experience mounts, they must try to find a way out of the ship and its sinister history.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan will feature Supermassive Games’ trademark cinematic narrative storytelling, enveloping players in its compelling story, building genuine attachment to the cast of characters in this ghastly tale of the high seas. Players could expect a similar experience to Until Dawn, with its unique brand of interactive drama and horror.
You can now pre-order The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan from the publisher BANDAI NAMCO’s official website. Fans who will pre-order will secure day-one access to the Curator’s Cut of Man of Medan, which opens up a myriad of different options and an alternative path through the game, experienced from an entirely new perspective. Once the game is completed for the first time, the players will unlock the new content, which adds possibilities and features such as new perspectives from different characters, new options and choices within each scene and therefore new outcomes, and also new scenes and secrets not featured in the original playthrough. This content will also be made available to players who do not pre-order, but at a later date.
