Koei-Tecmo has announced that they're developing a "Musou" title (think Dynasty Warriors/Hyrule Warriors/etc.) title that will contain a mix of characters from the company's portfolio of games. The title, called "Musou Stars", features characters from at least Atelier Sophie, Ninja Gaiden, and the Toukiden series - among (presumably) other characters from various Koei-Tecmo franchises. The game is currently in development for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, with a 2017 release planned for Japan. The title hasn't yet been announced for a western release. As far as we can tell, it uses the standard "Dynasty Warriors"-style gameplay, albeit this time with other Koei-Tecmo characters.

Other details about the title, such as what plot the game might have, or any unique features that it might include compared to other "Musou" titles, are unknown. Koei-Tecmo did, however, upload the trailer for the game to their official Youtube channel. You can find it embedded below.

We'll update you with more details about the title as information continues to flood in. If nothing else, "Musou Stars" will release in Japan sometime next year. A western release has yet to have been announced.

Quick Take

Considering how many Musou titles have come to PC, and the fact that this title is practically guaranteed to get a localization, Musou Stars may bring Atelier to PC before the actual series does. Anyway - Musou Stars looks to be a relatively normal "Musou" title, albeit with the only difference being that this one is a Hyrule Warriors-esque cross-over of various different characters. I've got to admit my only experience with Musou titles so far has been playing Hyrule Warriors on my Wii U for review, as well as trying out Attack on Titan at E3. With my limited experience with the franchise, I predict that the title will be a fun game in the end, if nothing else. I won't lie - I'm interested to see what characters from other franchises end up in the game.
