We got another look at 4A Game's Metro Exodus at the game awards.

The trailer featured Anna telling Artyom that she believes there's no one else left on the world, and questions why he keeps going out onto the surface. The surface is still in its nuclear winter state, featuring horrific creatures and destroyed buildings. We got a look at gameplay, showing Artyom exploring the wrecked world and finding a train that he got started. There wasn't any combat shown off, but it did at least give us an idea of what the game would look like and how some of the creatures would react.

As he drives his the train around Anna continues to express doubt that there's anyone else out there despite Artyom's insistence that there is. If this means we'll be using the train to explore various environments has yet to be seen, but it does appear it will be playing a very large role in the game.

After the show we learned a little more. The game will feature Artyom fleeing from the Metro, and taking with him a group of rangers. The group will travel across Russia, and the story will take place over the course of a year to let you see all the seasons.

It is noted that Metro Exodus is based on Dmitry Glukhovsky's books Metro 2033 and Metro 2035, notably leaving out Metro 2034. 4A Game's creative director and co-founder Andriy Prokhorov also apologized for the lack of news about the game so far, and promised that we will be learning more in the next couple of months.

Metro Exodus will be coming out in fall 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
