Version 1.35 of the side-scrolling, block-based game Terraria is now live on PC according to the game's official website.
The core focus of Version 1.35 has been visual improvements as detailed in the patch notes on the forums. Starting things off, Terraria now officially supports 4K resolution for gamers with really big displays that can take advantage of the resolution. The larger screen real-estate can sometimes make it difficult to see what's going on in the game, and thankfully the developers have also added UI-scaling and zoom features in this latest patch. Other visualization improvements include better rendering and overall gameplay on resolutions higher than 1080p, better consistency for the Retro lighting setting, and other undocumented changes.
In addition to the visuals, new translation options are available for the game. Russian, Simplified Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese, and Polish have been added to the game. This adds to the already existing list of languages that included German, Italian, French, Spanish, and (of course) English. The game's stability has also been reportedly improved on Mac OS X and Linux. Finally, several options from the main menu have been made available in the in-game options menu which should allow players to tinker with their settings without having to leave the game or server they're currently on.
The developers concede that this particular update is somewhat light on in-game content, but they've included a few new things nonetheless. Dungeons will generate new furniture, and a brand new Crystal Furniture Set has been added to the game.
