Sniper Elite V2 Remastered, an expanded and revamped version of Rebellion's 2012 sniper sim Sniper Elite V2, has a release date on PC and Consoles of May 14th.

The remastered version of the game boasts revamped textures, level geometry, and "dozens upon dozens" of improvements and enhancements. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game will also support 4K and HDR. If you played the original Sniper Elite V2 back in 2012 and want to know what's changed visually, check out Rebellion's official graphics comparison trailer:

Rebellion says it's updated almost everything about the game visually, including environments, character models, lighting, and vehicles. It's not all visual though; a number of new gameplay features have also been added to Sniper Elite V2 Remastered. A brand new frame-by-frame photo mode will allow players to construct elaborate dioramas and preserve unforgettable shots. Seven new playable characters make their way to the game from Rebellion's Zombie Army franchise. Online multiplayer has been expanded to support up to 16 players (only 8 players on the Switch, unfortunately). Finally, Rebellion is including every piece of DLC released for Sniper Elite V2 as part of the remastered package.

Sniper Elite V2 Remastered is launching for digital storefronts on May 14th, with boxed releases also available for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch (nothing for PC here, which isn't a surprise). Interested parties can pre-order the game on PC and PS4 from Rebellion's official website. Nintendo Switch and Xbox One pre-orders will become available on April 24th, so mark your calendar if those are your preferred platforms. Pre-ordering will net you a 10% discount on the digital versions of the game. If you already own Sniper Elite V2 on Steam, you can upgrade to the remastered version for $9.99.

Rebellion is showing a lot of love to the Sniper Elite franchise recently. Fans can also look forward to an upcoming Switch port of Sniper Elite V3, as well as some sort of follow-up to Sniper Elite 4 (although details on that particular project are scarce). We'll be watching with bated breath, mostly so we don't miss our shot.
