Strategy RPG Noahmund will be released for Steam on August 2nd.
The game was originally a Kickstarter project and was successfully funded via the crowdfunding platform in May 2017. Shortly thereafter, Noahmund was accepted into the Square Enix Collective, a curated collection of indie games put together by Square Enix.
To commemorate the release date of Noahmund, developer Estudio Ábrego released a new trailer on its official YouTube account. You can check out the trailer here:

The launch trailer shows off Noahmund's grid-based movement, tactical combat, and painterly art style. Noahmund takes place in the land of Feros, which is at war. Players control Galina Angstroud and her bodyguard, Berani Valenti, who must embark on what Estudio Ábrego calls "a journey for truth and salvation" to end the war between the North and South. The trailer is in Japanese, so you may not pick up on some of these details if you don't speak the language, but English-language trailers are also available on the dev's channel, so fill your boots.
Gameplay-wise, Noahmund is principally inspired by classic strategy RPGs like Final Fantasy Tactics, as well as JRPG favorites such as Chrono Trigger. Combat takes place in real-time and utilizes a grid-based system for movement, allowing players to set up flanking maneuvers and traps to maximize their strategic approach. Exploration is done via a node-based grid reminiscent of board games, in which players will discover "vast worlds filled with dungeons and puzzles".
Since its successful Kickstarter campaign, Noahmund has already won two awards (Best Audio and a Special Jury Prize) at the Gamepolis festival in the developer's native Málaga. Seems like fans of old-school tactical JRPGs are gonna get a real kick out of this one.
Noahmund will be released via Steam on August 2nd and will cost $14.95, which is a 25% discount on its regular price. After a week on release, the game will revert to its usual price of $19.95. It will be available in Spanish, English, and Japanese.
