Yesterday Cory Jones, gaming industry veteran, announced the launch of his Kickstarter for a Tabletop Gaming Subscription box. This box will be called QST, pronounced Quest. and will deliver a new small form tabletop experience to subscribers every month. The current Kickstarter goal is to raise $600,000 over the next 44 days, of which they've already raised $16,000.

QST What's in the box.
What's in the box!?!?

Each of the 13 games that you'll be getting during QST is made from the combination of a Concept Creator, Designer, and Artist. Each of these creators have different backgrounds and will be teaming up to ensure that each game is a brand new experience. On the list for Concept Creators are big names such as Cory Jones, Nolan Bushnell the creator of Atari, and Justin Roiland the co-creator of Rick and Morty. Designers include Ben Cichoski and Danny Mandel who created a Firefly deck building game, Paul Peterson who worked on the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game, and Matt Hyra who worked on Adventure Time Card Wars. From the list of Artists QST also has Jakub Rebelka who worked on The Witcher 2, Dan Brereton a well known comic book artist and Jon Vermilyea one of the animators for Adventure Time and Rick and Morty. For the full list of all of the contributors to this project then you can head to their website.

Each of the QST games will be shipped in 4.5 x 5.5 x 1.5 inch boxes and will contain all that is required to play the game. On the Kickstarter page, they also have a preview of the first game that will be releasing with this service. The game called FORECLOSURE: Dungeon Masters Tavern has you bidding of treasures against other boss monsters while also ensuring that you avoid any harmful effects from angry townsfolk.

QST FORECLOSURE

At the beginning of each new month, the game and three creators will be announced. A video will also be released showing how to play including the rules of the game and some fun strategies.

At the moment there are three different pledge levels:

  • $168.87 - Get all 13 board games over the next 12 months at $12.99 per month
  • $506.61 - Get three copies of all of the tabletop games
  • $1200.00 - Get three copies of all of the tabletop games as well as bonus special collectibles and keepsakes. (Limit 100)
The last of these levels though will only be available if all 100 are purchased.

For more information on QST and their plans going forward, you can find plenty of information on both their official website as well as on their kickstarter page.

What do you think of a tabletop subscription box? Is there any team up that you'd love to see from these creators?
