The tentatively titled SUPERHOT JP will be the latest iteration of the SUPERHOT saga and takes the red guys all the way to Japan. After escaping reality and succumbing to the augmented reality of Budd-OS, you'll unravel an array of mysteries one step at a time.

The gameplay will maintain its signature methodical rhythm regarding slow-motion combat, only now throughout a variety of new Japanese-inspired environments. From seedy Tokyo alleyways, bullet trains, samurai castles, to karaoke bars, you'll be able to experience flavors of tradition that alternate from archaic to contemporary.

As of now, the Japanese developers over at Game Tomo project that the finished project will contain roughly 15-18 regular levels, and 3-4 endless levels. There's going to be a few new weapons, including a bow, and the game modes that are in the original SUPERHOT will be making a comeback. Players can also expect newly imagined menus, UI, and story-line. Apart from a few new items and abilities, such as being about to see through shoji screens, this new installment plays very closely to the original as far as first-personal shooter mechanics go. The graphics are equally stylized, and the disruptive time-movement action will be sharper than ever.

The development is taking place in Tokyo with the guidance from the team of the original SUPERHOT. It's stated that a Japanese release is taking full priority, but other countries worldwide will be considered as time goes on. No prices have been specified quite yet, but its projected to be "priced very reasonably", and to be expected on PC and PlayStation 4 to start. Although the original made a crash with its VR capabilities, this new rendition hasn't mentioned a word about implementing that feature.

If you want to give the original SUPERHOT a shot in lieu of its newly announced sequel/spinoff, you can pick it up for PC and PlayStation 4 now.
