According to an announcement found in Super Mario Maker 2's news tab, Nintendo has raised the limit of the number of courses a player can upload from 32 to 64. In addition to doubling the limit on stage uploads, the same announcement also put forth that Nintendo would be increasing the number of stages one can upload once more in the future, possibly doubling the limit again from 64 to 128.

This follows fan outcry that the game's initial limit of 32 courses was simply not enough for some to satisfy some players creative drive, which was significantly less than Super Mario Maker 1 offered to players without requiring players to pay for online play. In addition, Super Mario Maker 2 also stirred controversy, when it was announced that players could not play with their friends in online play, as matchmaking was devoted solely to matching the player with random strangers on the internet. Much like the issue with the number of stages a player can upload, this issue was also promised to be addressed in a patch sometime in the future.

Mario Maker 2, the sequel to the Wii U Super Mario Maker, was released for the Nintendo Switch on June 28. While the sequel sadly cut some of the features from the first game, including the ability to use Amiibos to unlock costumes for Mario, it also brought with it a story mode, a new stage theme in the form of Super Mario World 3D Land, which came with the catsuit power-up, and new building tools like slopes.  You can find out more about what we thought of the game in our in-depth review.
