UK tabletop developer Steamforged Games is working onDevil May Cry board game. It's called Devil May Cry: The Bloody Palace and it'll be available for backers to fund via Kickstarter later this spring.

Steamforged describes The Bloody Palace as "an easy to learn, fast-paced, and dynamic experience". Players will be able to choose between iconic characters from the Devil May Cry series like Dante, Nero, Trish, and newcomer V. The aim of the game will be to build impressive attack combos and achieve high style ranks. We don't know too much else about the game's mechanics yet, so expect more info when Devil May Cry: The Bloody Palace lands on Kickstarter.

A first look at Devil May Cry: The Bloody Palace.

Mat Hart, creative director at Steamforged, says he "couldn't be more excited" to be working on Devil May Cry: The Bloody Palace. Hart reckons the new Devil May Cry board game has captured the essence of the video game series, and that the gameplay boasts "subtle yet dramatic depth". Capcom sounds pretty stoked for the project too. Senior brand manager Brian Ayers says the company is delighted to be working with Steamforged on the project.

Devil May Cry: The Bloody Palace will launch its Kickstarter campaign with a downloadable rulebook and playthrough videos from the dev team. The rulebook and videos will reveal more about the game's mechanics and how each aspect of play will work.

In the meantime, Steamforged is giving away a top-level "Sparda" pledge for the Devil May Cry board game via competition. All you need to do to enter is subscribe to the company's newsletter. Doing so will automatically enter you into the draw to win the pledge. Steamforged isn't announcing the winner until the campaign is fully funded, and we're not yet sure what a Sparda-level pledge actually contains, but hey - free stuff is free stuff, right?

Steamforged Games is a board and tabletop game developer based in the UK. The company's previous projects include video game adaptations like Dark Souls: The Board Game and Resident Evil 2: The Board Game. Steamforged is currently working on Horizon Zero Dawn: The Board Game, which was funded via Kickstarter.
