Today, PC game publisher MangaGamer has announced they will release the visual novel Steam Prison on February 14th.
In Steam Prison our heroine hails from the Utopian city of The Heights, a city of lights where its citizens live lives of luxury, comfort, and hedonism. As part of The Heights' police force, she is chosen to lead a mission that will take her to The Depth, a dark city that lies below the Heights. It is in The Depths that she discovers a world far different from her own. Away from the lights of the Heights, she finds a city filled with violence and despair where people struggle simply their lives.
Seeing how different these people from those of The Heights, our heroine must make a choice: champion the cause of the downtrodden, or show disdain for their very existence. Both choices will leads her down very different paths, and shape her future for better or worse.
Below you will find a sampling of the art that breaths life into this steampunk fantasy. Among these, you can see a preview of the sort anime-styled art and characters that the story's heroine will interact with and steer her destiny between two worlds.

MangaGamer is best known for releasing English language versions of some of Japan's biggest visual novels. Among their offerings are Rose Gun's Days, Umineko, and Higurashi, and a variety of otome games. HuneX, meanwhile, is a Japanese development team founded in 1992 as a partnership between NEC Home Electronics, Ltd. and Human Entertainment. Their previous works include home console ports of famous series like Fate/Stay Night and Clannad, as well as original titles like Steam Prison.
This steampunk otome adventure will be available on MangaGamer as well as Steam on February 14th, just in time for Valentines Day and can be pre-ordered for 31.99 on their website.
