Welcome to The State of TechRaptor: January 2015 Edition, where I’ll break down the January’s accomplishments and look to the future, so that everyone who reads TechRaptor can be informed of what we have going on!

The purpose of this is to really get our readers involved in our development so that you’re with us every step of the way as we grow. Your input is INCREDIBLY important to us as we grow, because we want TechRaptor to be a site for everyone.

Check out the video, and full breakdown, below!

Pageviews and Social Media – January 2015

January 2014 Pageviews: 29,627 (57 posts)

January 2015 Pageviews: 334,080 (341 Articles)

We grew by over 700 Twitter followers, 450 Facebook Likes, and 296 YouTube Subscribers!

Editorial / Staff Changes

On January 1st, JR Moore stepped down as Editor in Chief of TechRaptor to pursue some other activities outside of the site (He’s a volleyball coach that took his team to Nationals last year!) and we made some changes by adding 2 new editors to the process.

Andrew Otton – Our new Editor in Chief, Andrew is making a lot of changes to how we do things in order to improve our content quality, and streamline the process of staff writers submitting articles and working on topics. This is a big step in the right direction for us!

Don Parsons – Our News Editor, Don is around to help writers with news – creating a spreadsheet to track what needs covering, what has been covered, and checked news pieces for accuracy and grammar. If you haven’t noticed, the number of articles, as well as their quality has definitely improved.

Travis Donnell – Our Creative Director, Travis aims to improve the quality of our visuals. He’ll be working with staff to create banners and images to match the design of the site. He’s also working on our new theme!

Tabletop Content

We’ve migrated our Tabletop content over to TechRaptor! Card, Board, Paper and Pen, you name it – we’ll be covering it!

You can check out the articles here, or our videos here!

Looking to February

February is looking SWEET! Get it? Get it?

But really, we’re off to a HUGE start – with over 300,000 pageviews as of this posting! This is going to be a big month, and we’re so excited that we’re continuing to grow!

Forums / Community

Forums were purchased, and were being configured up until last week! At this time, they are live, and staff is using them for a lot of the conversation about games that was being done internally! Check them out!

LLC / Business Formation

We’re in the early stages of acquiring an LLC for TechRaptor, in order to further legitmize the site, and put some basic protections in place. More to come in the future!

Ethics Policy

Our Ethics Policy is long and wordy, and we want to improve it! We’ll be working during February and March to improve it and make it easier to read and much more clear!

Thank you!

Again, thank you for reading TechRaptor – we love interacting with you all and can’t wait to keep growing! We’re working to change things every month in an effort to better ourselves for you all! We’re here for you and because of you!
