Welcome to The State of TechRaptor: December 2014 Edition, where I’ll break down the month’s (and year’s) accomplishments and look to the future, so that everyone who reads TechRaptor can be informed of what we have going on!

The purpose of this is to really get our readers involved in our development so that you’re with us every step of the way as we grow. Your input is INCREDIBLY important to us as we grow, because we want TechRaptor to be a site for everyone.

Check out the video, and full breakdown, below!

Pageviews and Social Media – December 2014

December 2013 Pageviews: 44,747 (83 posts)

December 2014 Pageviews: 322,115 (279 Articles)

We grew by over 1,100 Twitter followers, 132 Facebook Likes, and 90 YouTube Subscribers!

Theme Progress

We’re still working on our new theme! The holidays threw us off a bit due to people taking time off, but we’re getting back on track now! We’ve decided on some features to potentially add, such as: Dark/Light options, better ad placements, user review scoring, more articles on homepage/category pages, and much more! Once the theme is ready and we’ve tested it, we’ll be opening it up to 100-150 people to test out for us!

Apparel is still coming! We’re fine tuning what we’ve come up with and have a few fresh ideas different from anything you’ve already seen on the site!

At the time of this writing (Jan 14, 2015), we have 23 patrons for $127.50! This is HUGE! It’s allowing us to expand our advertising to new places (Facebook, etc) in order to bring more people to the site! Thank you for your support, and you can check out our patreon here! Every $ helps!

2014 in Review

1.43 MILLION PAGEVIEWS in 2014!! Woah! Check out the link above for the full recap!

Looking forward to January

We’ll be continuing to work on our new Theme and Apparel, and will keep you apprised of how that’s coming along!

Editorial Changes

We made some editorial changes, and have two new editors!

Editor in Chief – Andrew Otton

News Editor – Don Parsons

We’re continuing to advertise on Twitter, and have now expanded – thanks to Patreon, into Facebook! We’re also exploring podcasts and YouTube for the future!

2015 Conventions

We’re continuing to apply for conventions in 2015! We’ve already been approved for 5 passes to TechWeek Chicago in June and are applying for E3, SDCC, IndyPopCon, PAX, GenCon, and more!!

We really hope we can go to E3, and the donation that was given to us by B0ink on Twitter should really help out! It’s going to be costly!

New Monthly Stream! #AskTechRaptor

Join us every month on a day TBD, likely middle of the month, for a Q&A session with myself and some of our writers! If you have a question, send an email to [email protected] or use #AskTechRaptor on Twitter!

Thank you!

Again, thank you for reading TechRaptor – we love interacting with you all and can’t wait to keep growing! We’re working to change things every month in an effort to better ourselves for you all! We’re here for you and because of you!
