This week on State of the Game we'll be taking a look at some stats for all the games released on Steam between the 5th and 11th of February this year. This week brings us yet another big name exiting Steam's Early Access program along with a smattering of new titles. With that in mind let's take a look at what's making the charts this week!

Rust, arguably the poster child for Steam's Early Access program (having been in it for 4 years), finally reached the 1.0 milestone. Thanks in part to the promotion it got on the Steam front page it saw a respectable 50% boost in players during those few days after release. That's since settled down to around 20% or so which, on the surface, might not sound like much but that's a whole 6,000 concurrent players that have joined Rust's ranks. It's been a long and rocky journey for Rust but it certainly seems like it's been worth it.

Closers, an episodic anime action role-playing gamecomes in at a distant second although it should be noted that this game has been out in other regions for quite some time. It first debuted at the end of 2014 in Korea and has been slowly making its way to other regions ever since.

The Red Solstice which debuted back in 2015 takes out the top spot in the trending section this week. The spike in players, which peaked at some 60,000 users (incredible by any standards), was due to the developer announcing their spiritual sequel to the title as well as re-releasing one of the game's first missions: Stay Frosty. Few games manage to attract players back in such huge droves as this game managed to this week so it will be interesting to see if that hype can rub off on the next game in the franchise.
