Co-op shooter Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax is making its way to Nintendo Switch, according to publisher Aksys Games.

The game was originally launched for PC back in November 2015, with a PS4 and Xbox One release following in 2016. The game is the brainchild (and first title) of Finnish developer Dreamloop Games. The Steam page for Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax describes it as a "fast-paced 1-4 player couch co-op action shooter" which blends "SHMUP / Brawler gameplay with RPG elements".

You can check out a 2015 trailer for Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax here (do note this is the PC version, so Switch graphics and gameplay may differ):

The trailer shows off the game's fast, fluid mech-based SHMUP gameplay, as well as its bright, colorful aesthetic. The Steam page for Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax promises "5 badass player characters" who each have "distinct special abilities and superweapons", a 10-level campaign "with a tongue-in-cheek story to tie it together", and "a light touch of RPG mechanics, just for fun". Players will take control of members of the new Galactic Police Force to "become the space warrior that saves the future".

Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax also boasts "an extensive and customizable list of game settings" so players can "play the way [they] want". These include health and shield amounts, hitbox sizes, enemy and player fire rates and more. Dreamloop wants Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax to provide everything from "relaxed star rides to maddening bullet hells".

We don't have a concrete release date for the game on Switch yet, but it's only just been announced for the console, so watch this space. Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax will launch for Nintendo Switch...erm...presumably at some point in the not-too-distant future.

TechRaptor's very own Alexandria Taberski reviewed Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax back when it first came out for PC. You can check out our review right here.
