The hotly-anticipated Stardew Valley 1.4 Update has been teased by developer Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone, showing off a brand-new feature that players can expect to use on their farm. Unfortunately, he has also revealed that the Stardew Valley console multiplayer patch has been delayed yet again.

Stardew Valley 1.4 Update Teaser: Fish Ponds

A brand-new Stardew Valley 1.4 teaser has been released by ConcernedApe in the form of fish ponds, a new building that are exactly what it says on the tin. Fish ponds will let players raise fish on the farm, finally bringing in one of the cooler features that were a part of Harvest Moon: Back to Nature.

Fish ponds will not only allow you to, well, raise fish — you'll also be able to collect roe (fish eggs) and "other products". What exactly these other products are isn't yet known. Personally, the first guess that comes to mind is fish oil, so I can totally see some new machine being made to get that done.

Stardew Valley Console Multiplayer Delayed

Unfortunately, today's news of a 1.4 teaser was somewhat marred by the announcement that the console version's multiplayer has been delayed yet again.

"Heard from the porting company, there are still technical issues with the console updates," ConcernedApe said on Twitter. "They give an estimate that it will be ready within a couple weeks but I can't personally guarantee that. All I can say is that I'm truly sorry this is taking so long."

While fans may be disappointed at the lack of multiplayer on consoles, they can at least take some comfort in the fact that ConcernedApe seems to be on top of the situation. Let's hope that console players won't have to wait too much longer to play with their friends.

If you haven't played this game (for some crazy reason), you can get Stardew Valley on PC via Steamthe Humble Store, or DRM-free on GOG for $14.99 or your regional equivalent. Console players can get it for the Nintendo SwitchXbox One, or PlayStation 4 at their respective storefronts, and mobile gamers can get it for Android at the Play Store and iOS at iTunes.
