The Starbound Bounty Hunter update is here! This update has finally been deployed after a short period of testing as an unstable version. The new content added in the Starbound 1.4 patch adds a bunch of new things for players to do in a new system where they can hunt down dangerous criminals across the galaxy.

The Starbound 1.4 update is detailed in a news post on the game's Steam Community page. The big new feature in the Starbound Bounty Hunter update is the Bounty Hunter system. Players can participate in new procedurally-generated quests that will have them tracking down criminal gangs. Search locations for clues, track them down, and blast them to pieces with some plasma-assisted justice! As you progress through the Peacekeeper questline, you'll gain higher and higher ranks in this new law enforcement organization as you work to restore order to a chaotic universe.

In addition to the new bounty hunting system, some other changes have made their way into the game. More than 50 new rare elemental monster variants are now available in the Starbound Bounty Hunter update. These include the Fire Gleap, Electric Yokat, Ice Snaggler, and many, many more.

New furniture is also being added in Starbound 1.4. An Egyptian set, Office set, Peacekeeper set, Neon set, and several other neat new cosmetic goodies have been added to the game.

Of course, several other bug fixes and other changes have been added into the game; be sure to read the full patch notes for all the fine details. Now's as good a time as any to get yourself back into Starbound! If you don't yet already own the game, you can pick it up on Steam, the Humble Store, or GOG for $14.99 or your regional equivalent.
